Air Purifier Troubleshooting FAQ

My DFS light is on and I recently changed the filters, what should I do?

The DFS light can be turned on or off by pressing the button. Sometimes it can be accidentally turned off, so try pressing the DFS button to toggle it back on.

Based on the Intellipure unit you have, your DFS turning on could signal different things.

For your Compact Unit, if you notice that your DFS light is flashing after you have changed your filters, don't panic. This light acts as a reminder to clean and change your filters, so you most likely just have to reset the timer. To reset the flashing light, simply put the machine on medium speed and hold the power button for 5-7 seconds. These instructions can also be found on the back of the machine.

If the lights are flashing on your Ultrafine 468, this typically means the timer was miss-set. It can happen when the 1, 2, or 3 buttons are pressed too long or too hard. A hard reset should fix this as long as there is no damage to the touchpad that would deform the capacitive layer.

The DFS light typically comes on if the HEG (high energy grid) is not clean, or, if there isn’t a good connection between the system, the HEG, and the main filter. Remove the front grille and the HEG. Then, gently wipe the electrical contacts, the metal plate with the holes, and the wires with a lint-free or microfiber cloth. After, you can re-test the system.

Does everything work now? If so, great! If your unit’s DFS light continues to turn off and turn read, please try the following steps:

  1. Unplug your system.
  2. Remove the front grille, the HEG, and the main filter.
  3. Leaving the main filter out, reinstall the HEG. Make sure the HEF post and electrical tab on the bottom are connected. You will notice there is a little “slot” in the top-middle area where the grey lever goes to secure the grille. Adjust the HEG so the bottom and top are straight, even, and pulled to the front as far as possible.
  4. Put the front grille back on.
  5. Plug the system in and turn it back on.

My unit won't turn on, what do I do?

When your Intellipure air purification unit won’t turn on, there are a few things you need to check. First, check your power connection to ensure that the unit is fully plugged into an AC outlet. Next, check to see that the front cover of your unit is in place and tightly shut. Lastly, check the fuse located in the back of your Intellipure to make sure that your fuse hasn’t blown.
